Jungkook avoided him.
For two days.
Which was ridiculous—because he lived in Taehyung’s house.
But somehow, the idiot had managed to disappear every time Taehyung entered a room.
It would have been almost impressive—
If it wasn’t so infuriating.

Avoiding the Problem Doesn’t Make It Go Away
Taehyung wasn’t stupid.
He saw the way Jungkook tensed whenever his date was mentioned.
Saw how he scowled at his phone when Taehyung received another text from the guy.
He saw it all.
And yet—
Jungkook refused to talk about it.
Instead, he spent more time at the gym.
Spent longer in the guest house.
Spent less time looking Taehyung in the eyes.
Like he thought that if he just ignored it, the feeling would go away.
(It didn’t.)

Jiho Knows Everything
The baby was too young to understand what was happening—
But that didn’t stop him from staring.
Wide-eyed. Curious.
Like he could feel the strange, tense energy between Jungkook and Taehyung.
And when Jungkook avoided looking at Taehyung again—
Jiho did the worst thing possible.
He reached for Jungkook with tiny, chubby hands and yelled.
Loudly.
Jungkook—who had been pretending to focus on his coffee—jumped.
Taehyung barely held back his smirk.
Even the baby was calling him out.
Jungkook cleared his throat, awkwardly reaching for Jiho. “What?”
Jiho gurgled.
Taehyung translated.
“He’s asking why you’re sulking.”
Jungkook scowled. “I’m not sulking.”
Jiho yelled again.
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. “Jiho says that’s exactly what someone who’s sulking would say.”
Jungkook groaned. “You’re making that up.”
Taehyung grinned. “Maybe.”

Taehyung Pushes Too Far
It was later that night, when they were alone in the living room, that Taehyung finally snapped.
He was tired of Jungkook acting weird.
Tired of the silence.
So, he poked the bear.
“You didn’t like him, did you?”
Jungkook—who had been scrolling through his phone, pretending not to be tense—froze.
“…Who?”
Taehyung rolled his eyes. “My date.”
Silence.
Taehyung pushed harder.
“Why?”
Jungkook’s jaw tightened. “I just didn’t trust him.”
“That’s not an answer.”
Jungkook let out a breath through his nose.
Then, finally, he looked at him.
Dark. Intense. Something Taehyung couldn’t read.
“Why are you asking?”
Taehyung’s lips parted.
He should have said something light.
Should have laughed it off, teased Jungkook for being a grumpy bodyguard.
But instead—
He said the truth.
“Because if you don’t care, it shouldn’t matter.”
Jungkook’s eyes flashed.
For a split second—Taehyung thought he would finally say something.
Finally admit something.
But then—
Jungkook looked away.
Tense. Guarded.
And Taehyung felt it.
That whatever was happening between them—
Was getting too close.
And Jungkook wasn’t ready to face it.
Not yet.
